Her Universe "Geek Couture" Fashion Show Part II

Last year was an up and down year for Fashioned for the Geek, that is why we only updated once last year. There was a lot of great geek related costume designs last year, and we hope to cover as much as possible in 2016. On a personal note, one notable event that I took part in was the Her Universe Geek Couture Fashion Show. It is an honor to be part of the Her Universe fashion show again!

For the Her Universe Fashion Show my design was inspired by Louise Belcher. I took my color and design inspiration from her bedroom, previously a closet and now a prized location. Below is a detailed description of the design and modeled by Sophia Zarders.

The top is linen with a Peter Pan collar and a keyhole opening at the center back. The keyhole is closed with an eyeball button. The face pieced together and the eyes are made from lambskin leather. The fringe is attached inside the lining.

The skirt is a knit with a side zipper closure, the eye is stuffed and the fringe is placed between the skirt and the lower eye.

The purse is Louise’s Kuchi Kopi nightlight, made with vinyl and hand sewn together. Layers of interfacing are inside and the purse is fully lined with a woven cotton.

The hat is a Louise ear hat fascinator, made with buckram, pink woven cotton, and hand sewn.
