Fashion Fetish

The air has a slight chill and the skies are a little darker, fall has arrived. Time to pull out our cold weather clothing and get ready to wrap ourselves in wool, this would be true if I wasn't living in Southern California. In honor of the new season I want to talk about Louis Vuitton's fall/winter 2011 collection. Marc Jacobs inspired by fetish did a fantastic job translating fetish into RTW for the fall. The word fetish can really throw people but Jacobs successfully pulls from the collective consciousness of what fetish means, and translates it to a socially acceptable look.

I instantly fell in love with this bracelet, and I had to know more about the line.

I instantly fell in love with this bracelet, and I had to know more about the line.

This line is filled with a mixture of textures, from shiny and hard to soft and sheer. A complex mixture that helps the line be very successful. The line is tailored with round feminine collars, oversized jackets mixing with harsh patent corsets, fur, and masks. When looking at the line many images and words come to mind, innocent girl, the maid, severity, and strong. All of these factors make this line interesting and complex.
